Lets lay down some tracks!

I can’t tell you how wonderfully liberating it is to have your own recording studio, never having to book months in advance and pay so much for just an hour of time.  In the mood to work on some tunes?  Just close the door, tune up and off you go.  But there is another side of the studio that is very intimidating.  As you can see there are a ton of sliders and knobs and unusual terminology and, oh my goodness, wires EVERYWHERE.  But after hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours in professional studios, especially with Tom Smith, I had a pretty good idea of what I needed to get a good clean duplication of a hammer dulcimer.  It worked out great for years there in Arlington, TX and this photo was taken in 2002.  My last album, Twilight in the Highlands, was recorded exclusively in the Wood ‘N Strings studio including psaltery, guitar, cello and harp accompanying the hammer dulcimer.
